Richard Lin, PhD
Founder, President and CEO
Dr. Richard Lin oversees the strategic direction of Explora’s research services and vivarium operations. Richard is also very active in the San Diego biotech community: he is on the Planning Committee of the BIOCOM CRO Initiative, the Industry Advisory Board of the Southern California Biotech Center, and is a frequent speaker at local bioentrepreneur events.
Richard has more than 25 years of academic research and industry drug development experience, with extensive knowledge of cancer biology, metabolic diseases, and animal physiology. Prior to founding Explora BioLabs in 2004, Richard held leadership positions in research and preclinical development at Ansata Therapeutics, Genset Corporation, Corvas International, and Axys Pharmaceuticals. Richard conducted his postdoctoral research at UC San Diego Cancer Center, and received his PhD in Zoology from UC Berkeley.
Hong Xin, PhD
Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Hong Xin is in charge of all contract research at Explora. She guides clients and oversees studies from the initial project design, through execution and data analysis, to the final study report.
Hong has over 25 years of academic research and industry drug development experience, with in-depth knowledge across multiple disciplines including cancer biology, cell biology, immunotherapy, molecular biology, animal model development, and pharmacology. Prior to joining Explora BioLabs in 2007, Hong was the Director of Preclinical Pharmacology at Alexion Antibody Technologies, and a scientist in the Pharmacology Department at Chiron Corporation. Hong conducted her postdoctoral research at the Burnham Institute and Chiron Corporation, and received her PhD in Biological Chemistry from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
