May 2, 2016

SAN DIEGO, CA — Explora BioLabs, Inc., San Diego’s leading preclinical contract research and vivarium rental provider, announces the signing of a lease for a 5,000 square foot, purpose-built vivarium facility in the University Town Center (UTC) life sciences cluster.

This facility, part of the Genesis Campus Point life sciences complex being developed by Phase 3 Real Estate Partners, will provide additional full-service vivarium housing for rodents used in critical preclinical studies. Commencement of operations is anticipated to be fall of 2016.

“Our flexible vivarium incubator model has proven extremely popular among biotech, pharma, and academic researchers. As our existing facilities reach capacity, our new vivarium will better serve our clients by providing significant additional rodent housing capacity in a prime location for entrepreneurism and collaborative research,” said Richard Lin, PhD, CEO and Founder, Explora BioLabs. “This is an exciting time for Explora, as we are also currently planning expansion of our operations into South San Francisco’s life sciences hub.”

With the opening of its state-of-the-art UTC facility, Explora will operate over 45,000 square feet of vivarium space in San Diego. Explora will continue to operate its four other rental vivarium facilities in Mission Bay, Sorrento Valley and on Torrey Pines Mesa.
