Nathaniel "Sandy" Paige


In May 2018, Nathaniel “Sandy” Paige joined Explora BioLabs as CEO, where he splits his time between Explora’s operations in San Diego and San Francisco. Before joining Explora, Sandy successfully expanded global relationships and distribution for JAX Mice & Clinical Research Services while he was the Director of International Sales & Distribution at Sacramento’s Jackson Laboratory. Over the course of a decade in Sacramento, California with JAX, he also served as Director of Business Development as well as Senior Site Director during the closing of one site while simultaneously opening a much larger facility, both on budget and on schedule. Sandy was intimately involved with financing growth at JAX West, strategic planning for JAX, and was Chairman of JAX West’s IACUC Committee.

Prior to joining JAX, Sandy was General Manager of Knight-Celotex, a plant that manufactures construction products 24/7/365 in Lisbon Falls, ME. Previously, he was VP of Administration for the Neptune Regional Transmission System during its development stages and the subsequent $650M project financing. Earlier in his career, Sandy acted as financial analyst and controller for Cianbro Development Corporation and Atlantic Energy Partners, a subsidiary of The Cianbro Companies. He also held positions in corporate marketing at Fairchild Semiconductor and served as personal assistant to Maine’s Governor Angus King (I).

Sandy received a B.A. from Middlebury College in Vermont and an M.B.A. from Babson College in Massachusetts.

Richard Lin, PhD

Founder & Head of Growth Strategies

Dr. Richard Lin founded Explora’s research services and vivarium operations. He now leads the company’s growth strategies. Richard is very active in San Diego’s biotech community, where he is on the BIOCOM CRO Initiative’s Planning Committee and sits on the Industry Advisory Board of the Southern California Biotech Center. Richard enjoys being a frequent speaker at local bioentrepreneur events.

Richard has more than 25 years of academic research and industry drug development experience, with extensive knowledge of cancer biology, metabolic diseases, and animal physiology. Prior to founding Explora BioLabs in 2004, Richard held leadership positions in research and preclinical development at Ansata Therapeutics, Genset Corporation, Corvas International, and Axys Pharmaceuticals.

Richard conducted his postdoctoral research at UC San Diego Cancer Center and received his PhD in Zoology from UC Berkeley.

Brandy Wilkinson, PhD

VP of Operations & Research

Brandy Wilkinson has over 10 years of experience directing large-scale preclinical in vivo pharmacology research, and development operations. Most recently, she served as Principal Scientist and Manager of In Vivo Pharmacology-Oncology at Covance. Her responsibilities included acting as a global scientific expert to pharmaceutical and biotech companies on the use of translational oncology models. Brandy also has extensive experience in model development, including immune-oncology models as well as patient-derived xenografts. Previously, she served as the Director of Translational Oncology at Champions Oncology and as a Study Director/Program Lead at The Jackson Laboratory.

Brandy received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Florida State University and served a postdoctoral fellowship in the Alzheimer’s Disease Laboratory at Case Western Reserve University with Gary Landreth.

Tiffany Granacki

Director of Sales & Marketing

Tiffany Granacki joined the Explora BioLabs team in March 2019 as the Director of Sales and Marketing. She oversees life science activities in both Southern and Northern California, which are two of the largest research-based communities in the United States. She liaises between customers and Operations, discussing OnDemand and OnSite requests with an understanding of respective contract research needs.

Prior to her time with Explora BioLabs, Tiffany spent a decade in the preclinical contract research space, including working on projects focusing on synthetic DNA to Next-Generation Sequencing. She understands the current marketplace and regularly evaluates related trends via various sources to better serve her customer base. Tiffany earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from San Diego State University.

Todd Knapp

VP of Finance & Administration

In October 2018, Todd Knapp joined the Explora BioLabs team as the VP of Finance and Administration. His role has him overseeing Finance, Accounting, IT, and Human Resources for the company. Todd came to Explora after 17 years in the software and mobile technology spaces, where he provided key financial leadership and guidance to high-growth small- to medium-sized private and public companies. Todd is a California-licensed CPA. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of Georgia.

Elyse Walk, PhD

Compliance Manager

Elyse Walk has 10 years of experience in breeding and mouse disease modeling of cancer and metabolic disorders. She now applies this experience to the management of the Occupational Health and Safety, EH&S and Animal welfare/regulatory programs at Explora. Dr. Walk oversees general and special chemical safety training, serves as the Chair of the Safety Team, and maintains compliance and permits at all facilities. She hosts county, state and federal inspectors as well as representatives from other regulatory agencies and audits from clients. Dr. Walk received her PhD in Cancer Cell Biology from West Virginia University, followed by post-doctoral studies at UCSD. She also completed training as a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist and is certified in CPR, AED and basic first aid.

Janette Delgadillo

Study Design Manager/IACUC Chair

Janette Delgadillo has over 17 years of contract research organization experience, including  preclinical in vivo study management and operations oversight. Janette joined Explora in June 2008 and has since played a critical management role, from implementing multiple animal research models to surgical techniques, and leading new personnel and client training. Janette also serves as Explora's Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) Chair since 2010. She received her Bachelor's degree in Biochemical Engineering from the Technological Institute of Tijuana, Mexico.
