Explora BioLabs’ Growth:

A common facility amongst San Diego startups, La Jolla Cove Research Center, or better known as “505 Coast Boulevard”, would become our first vivarium facility. Shortly thereafter, we made the decision to manage San Diego Science Center’s vivarium in Pacific Beach. Within a year or two, our Road to the Cure facilities opened, followed by Sorrento Valley and Campus Point locations in 2015 and 2017, respectively. 2017 is marked as a momentous year for Explora as we embark on our San Francisco journey with the launch of our Genesis Tower (South San Francisco) and Bayer CoLaborator (Mission Bay) footprint. With our recent San Diego and Bay Area additions in 2019, Center for Novel Therapeutics (CNT) in La Jolla, Shoreline in South San Francisco, and Open Medicine Institute in Mountain View, we have expanded our capabilities to further accommodate the greater San Diego and San Francisco communities with affordable in vivo support.

Even as these words are typed, Explora’s leadership is working to solve the vivarium problem for biotechs in Los Angeles and Seattle, too.

Explora BioLabs, 15 years later, is still here for our clients; brainstorming new ways in which we can ameliorate the preclinical in vivo workflow. We continue our expansion with new facilities and new services as the West Coast market leaders.

We, at Explora BioLabs, are tremendously proud of our successes, but more notably, proud of our clients’ accomplishments, many of whom are working diligently towards a cure for gastrointestinal oncology, or a therapy for pediatric rare diseases. Our goal in managing clean, affordable, regulated facilities and services, is to ultimately reroute resources back to the research. And one day, being much more optimistic about diagnoses and related prognoses.
